Production used a mix of on-location and studio shoots across the Atlanta area, with key spots, according to Collider, including Bellwood Quarry, Patrick Henry High School, and Stone Mountain Park. Hopper’s cabin at Sleepy Hollow Farm in Georgia makes a comeback this season as well. While it is a known fact that most of Stranger Things' scenes were shot in a studio, these locations gave a real-life and authentic feel to Hawkins for all viewers.
For previous seasons, Stranger Things used a variety of real locations. In season 3, the show filmed in New Mexico, using Skate O’Mania in Albuquerque for Rink O’Mania scenes and Lukiškės Prison in Vilnius, Lithuania, for Kamchatka prison. Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth near Atlanta became Starcourt Mall, hosting the Mind Flayer’s climactic events. Hawkins Laboratory was based on the Georgia Mental Health Institute, operational from 1965 to 1997. Stranger Things season 5 release date
The first four episodes, forming Volume One of Stranger Things 5, will be released on November 26, 2025. Volume Two, comprising episodes 5 through 7, will follow on Christmas Day, December 25. The conclusive chapter, meanwhile, will drop on New Year’s Day, December 31. Each volume will be available to stream at 8 PM EST, according to Netflix. Set in the fall of 1987, season 5 of the sci-fi saga will feature the military quarantine plotline as the central characters unite for a final confrontation with Vecna.
