Notre-Dame

Notre-Dame, the 2022 Netflix French series, is inspired by the actual infamous fire that overtook the Notre-Dame Cathedral on April 15, 2019. Considering the religious and cultural importance of the historic building, the fire marked a huge moment of devastation, as it took 15 hours to extinguish the flames entirely.

Notre-Dame was released on Netflix on October 18, 2022, and stars Roschdy Zem, Caroline Proust, Megan Northam, Simon Abkarian, and Alice Isaaz, among others.

The Queen’s Gambit

The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix is a coming-of-age period drama based on Walter Tevis’ 1983 novel. Set between the mid-1950s and 1960s, the miniseries follows Beth Harmon, an American chess prodigy, as she rises in the chess world while struggling with substance abuse. Though it is a limited series, The Queen’s Gambit has won a whopping eleven Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a SAG Award.

It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Camp, Moses Ingram, Christian Seidel, Rebecca Root, and Chloe Pirrie among others.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is a 2014 action crime anthology flick, and a sequel to 2005’s Sin City. The plot is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novels and consists of four entwined storylines: Just Another Saturday Night, The Long Bad Night Part I, A Dame to Kill For, and The Long Bad Night Part II.

It stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Rosario Dawson among others.
