“True to the books”- ‘The Witcher’ Producer Drops Major Hint at Books Being Foundation of Introducing Liam Hemsworth for Henry Cavill’s Geralt in Season 4
The Witcher Season 3 is the last time Henry Cavill took the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia. So fans are eager to know how the creators would explain Liam Hemsworth’s arrival since changing the face of a leading character is not as easy as it seems. Especially when they are replacing one of the most beloved superstars. The fantasy drama has already been renewed for season 4 while volume 2 of season 3 is just around the corner. This is why the show’s producer has teased fans about how books would explain this change in Geralt’s look.
The Witcher executive producer, Tomek Bagiński recently sat down with Radio Times to answer some burning questions about the show. Fans have long been restless thinking about this major change in the show and need an explanation. The interviewer asked Bagiński how they are going to address Geralt’s new appearance in season 4.
In his response, the 47-year-old stated that the team is adding some very talented writers for the next installment. “I think they cobbled together a really nice opening which is really true to the books,” he added. Then the Polish illustrator continued that readers already know how immersive this storyline is and it is certainly not about a single world.

According to him, these books by Andrzej Sapkowski open gates to a more complex and bigger world where different stories are intertwined. So if the producer suggested to the “multiverse” the team can conveniently justify Liam Hemsworth’s presence. It is important to note that the origin does not refer to any different universes, but the team’s creative mind finds something thrilling.

Tomek Bagiński also spoke to The Express and told them they are not going to dive deeper into this saga. They believe that every story has many angles and can be represented from different perspectives. “Sometimes those POVs and those versions of the stories are very, very different from what we thought was the truth,” he said.
From what the producer has said, it can be presumed that season 4 would open a century later than this saga. This depicts the time when young Nimue Verch Wledyr ap Gwyn is hearing this adventurous story from his father. And when this young girl investigates on her own, she believes Geralt looks like Liam Hemsworth, not Henry Cavill.
