According to Netflix, the streamer’s brand new series, Rotten Legacy, has become the talk of the streaming town with a star-studded ensemble attached to the project. Rotten Legacy stars Jose Coronado as Federico Seligman, Belén Cuesta (Money Heist) as Yolanda, Diego Martín (Elite) as Andrés, Natalia Huarte (To Love is Forever) as Guadalupe, and María Morera (Freedom) as Lara.

The cast additionally includes Susi Sánchez (Offering to the Storm), Mireia Portas (Crazy about Her), Gustavo Salmerón (Mensaka), Nico Romero (The Time It Takes), Iván Pellicer (Holy Family), Salva Reina (El 47), and Lucas Nabor (Culpa mía). Carlos Montero, Pablo Alén, and Breixo Corral have created the series.

According to Netflix, Rotten Legacy centers on Federico Seligman, a media mogul and father of four, and his family. Seligman has dedicated his life to building a media empire where his four children are heirs. However, the plot of Rotten Legacy unfolds when Seligman must step away from his company because of an illness that kept him on the sidelines for 2 years.
Upon Seligman’s return, he finds out that his children, the heirs of his media company have become estranged and have made the business exactly the opposite of the father’s ambition. As a result, Seligman will “stop at nothing to prevent them from destroying his legacy.” The plot reeks of drama and chaos, but observing the Netflix track record, who does not love a binge-watch that promises goosebumps?

Where was Netflix’s Rotten Legacy filmed?
Netflix knows how to pull out all the stops to ensure a streaming blockbuster. And for Rotten Legacy, which goes by the Spanish title Legado, the streaming giant went all the way to Madrid, Spain. Most of the filming for the Netflix series took place in Madrid, including homes and offices. However, one of the most important locations is the Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute.

The Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute is a round building, famous for its modern architecture in Spain. The filming began on March 4, 2024, and was completed just ahead of its Netflix release on May 16. Eduardo Chapero-Jackson and Carlota Pereda have co-directed the series, which features 8 episodes. Pablo Alén and Breixo Corral have written the episode.
