The live-action adaption of the famous One Piece is going to be here in August and with the trailer releasing already, the wait is getting unbearable. Fans are excited to see how the live adaptation of the manga will turn out on screen, with the creator Eiichiro Oda being honest with the fans about working with Tomorrow Studios in collaboration with Netflix. Monkey D. Luffy surely possesses amazing speed, agility, and reflexes. His powers will come played by Iñaki Godoy on screen and will show some of the powers that come from the Devil Fruits.

As the release gets closer, let’s take a look at the source powers of the story, Devil Fruits. With four of them making appearances in the teaser, it is interesting to see how the CGI will turn them out in the much anticipated live adaptation.

To give some context, the Paramecia type of Devil Fruits can make the person become a substance or produce the substance at will. According to GameRant, one of the Devil fruits, Sube Sube no Mi, will appear in the live adaptation. It gives the power of slipperiness and smoothness. Alvida, a pirate, is going to showcase her powers later on. Her iconic pink boat appears in the trailer, as she fights against Luffy.

Another devil fruit we will be Bari Bari no Mi. The famous Star Clown of the show, Buggy, possesses the power of this fruit. This Paramecia type of fruit lets the possessor of its power split their bodies into smaller parts. This makes Buggy easily win against slashing attacks since he can easily divide himself into pieces. The debut of this power will take place in the Orange Arc, where Luffy and Buggy are set to face each other in a thrilling match. Buggy makes an appearance in the trailer right after we see Alvida’s ship on screen.

The Gomu Gomu no Mi appears at the very beginning of Luffy’s life. It gives the protagonist the power of elasticity of rubber and resistance against blunt force. This is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit, which means Luffy can turn himself into another type of substance. And with Gomu Gomu no Mi, it is stretchy and resistant to blunt damage kind. This ability is something we can see right before the trailer ends.

The only non-Paramecia type Devil Fruit we will see is Moku Moku no Mi. It will give Smoker, another character who will fight against Luffy, the power to turn into smoke itself. He possesses his powers from the Logia type of Devil Fruit, which allows the possessor to become a force of nature itself. According to GameRant, he is set to appear too. But since we don’t see this character in the trailer, we don’t know for sure how he will look on-screen.
