Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had one of the most beautiful and grand weddings in royal history. Over a hundred thousand people surrounded St George’s Chapel to watch the historic moment of a royal prince taking the plunge with a mixed-race American actress. Meanwhile, the ceremony was broadcasted live to millions of fans across the globe.

Though the event was one of the ages, the Duke might have had other plans for his wedding. In the fourth episode of the docuseries Harry & Meghan, the royal prince reflected on how there was certain pressure from the public because of him being Princess Diana’s son. The late Princess of Wales is one of the most loved royals to date. Naturally, the people in the United Kingdom have a special affection for her two children, Prince William and Prince Harry. While describing his wedding day in the Netflix show, the Sussex royal touched upon the expectations of the people.

Prince Harry reflects on his thoughts before saying the vows

Speaking of his grand wedding ceremony, Prince Harry revealed in the show that, “There was an expectation from Diana’s boy to have a public wedding.” He added how the people considered it as a job done when Prince William married his college sweetheart Kate Middleton in April 2011. For them, it was another “job done” moment in May 2018 during the Sussexes ceremony. 

It is believed that with his statement; the Duke has given a subtle hint about doing a big public wedding only because of pressure. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle also shared her thoughts about the calm morning ahead of the big moment. She revealed her temptation of eating good food and walking down the aisle with the song, Going To The Chapel Of Love by the Dixie Cups. The former American actress also described her shock after finding thousands of people standing across both sides of streets when she was travelling to her wedding venue.
