Details about the said affair, though, are limited only to that.

With Vecna succeeding in wreaking havoc across Hawkins by opening the Upside Down rift, season four masterfully set up the final showdown that would ensue this season. Amid Max Mayfield's prolonged comatose state and her fate left in the hands of her friends, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the Stranger Things squad, including some exciting new additions, salvages the show’s daring plotline.

With the calendar flipping rapidly, it is not too long until fans discover how Stranger Things puts itself to rest.

In a brilliant move to capitalize on fans’ love for Stranger Things, Netflix decided to stretch the show’s release over two months starting in November 2025. Fans will get the final taste of the show on New Year’s Eve, i.e., December 31—meaning, they will either enter 2026 on a very good or a completely bitter note. With such a great responsibility on its hands, Netflix’s chance of ruining the finale appears slim, but not negative.

For those not in the loop, Stranger Things 5 marks the final Hawkins outing of multiple fan-favorite stars, including Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink. Each volume of Stranger Things will drop at 5 pm. Fans must calculate in advance when new episodes arrive in their respective time zones to avoid delays in viewing, and therefore risk it being spoiled. The spoiler, however, could also come during the show's participation at its Lucca & Games showcase.
