Netflix has renewed Wednesday for a third season. While a specific release date for season 3 is not yet slated, the filming will reportedly begin in November 2025. Industry insiders estimate that Wednesday Season 3 could potentially be released in mid-to-late 2026, possibly around Halloween, coinciding with the show's gothic theme. Its thrilling third season will kick off filming in the stunning landscapes of Wicklow, Ireland, just like in season 2.

This news comes on the heels of the highly anticipated Wednesday Season 2 premiere, slated for this August. Tim Burton's gothic comedy series posits itself as a long-term hit franchise, ready to linger in the minds of the viewers for years to come. Having several seasons mapped out for the show, as reported by Variety, Wednesday's narrative is set to take an even more intriguing turn beyond Season 2, leading right into the third season.

Returning cast and new faces for Wednesday Season 3

Jenna Ortega's soul-gazing stare and the iconic pigtails will return as Wednesday Addams, leading the already successful franchise into greatness. Meanwhile, Nevermore Academy is not complete without its sunshine werewolf, Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers. Though Netflix has not confirmed the Season 3 cast, series regulars who have been confirmed in Season 2, such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, are expected to retain their parts in the next mapped storyline.

This August, Wednesday is set to bring brand new additions to its macabre comedy lore. Joining the Addams Family on screen will be Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), Steve Buscemi as Principal Dort, and Billie Piper as a werewolf music teacher. Lady Gaga will also make a cameo in Season 2 as Rosaline Rotwood, though the full cast list for the third season has not been revealed yet.
