The movie is about to bring literature to life as it is based on Julia Whelan’s novel of the same name. It begins with the journey of Anna, played by Sofia Carson, an ambitious young woman from America, who goes to the University of Oxford for higher studies and fulfills her childhood dream of studying at the most prestigious university in the world. But once there, she crosses paths with a charming and clever British boy that changes the course of their lives.

AS per the BAFTA-nominated director Iain Morris, who made the movie, the lead actors shared a great chemistry from the very beginning, and their characters’ love story set against the gorgeous backdrop of Oxford will make for a great watch once on the screen.

When is My Oxford Year hitting the screens?

Just within a couple of months' wait, My Oxford Year will be ready to entertain the audience on August 1. This comes as the 2025 second release of Sofia Carson on Netflix, after The Life List, which charted to number 1 on Netflix in the United States shortly after the release, leaving behind some heavy competitors.
