Eric Bana, Sam Neill, and Rosemarie DeWitt’s latest digital outing dropped on July 17 and took the global streaming world by storm courtesy of its gripping plot. As fans devoured the Netflix production in one sitting, they collectively searched online to know whether the series was actually filmed at Yosemite National Park, the location that acts as the show’s setting. Much to their disappointment, Untamed was not shot in the said Californian national park but rather was taped in Whistler, a town north of Vancouver, British Columbia. The series, however, employs aerial shots of Yosemite.
Filming for Untamed began in Vancouver in late June 2024 and wrapped in September. Additional shooting locations include Chipp Kerr Park in Port Moody, which also hosted the Shōgun cast, Mount Seymour, and Grace Lake. It is unclear why Untamed was not filmed in Yosemite National Park, as several films and television shows, including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, have used the iconic location. Meanwhile, a tangled tale of secrets, suspicion, and survival awaits those yet to enter the world of Untamed.
A remote forest, chilling murders, and a survivor with secrets—Untamed is not just a thriller; it is a trap not many see coming.

Untamed, the character-driven mystery drama, follows Kyle Turner, a special agent in a coveted branch of the National Parks Service who works to enforce human laws in the wilds. The series, which acts as a perfect addition to the streamer's overflowing trove of thrillers, opens with the death of a young woman who appears to have plunged from a cliff, prompting Turner to collaborate with a rookie forest ranger to launch an investigation. As the duo attempts to unravel the mystery, they discover clues that threaten to expose something more sinister than an accidental demise.
