Quarterback Season 2 released on Netflix on July 8, bringing to fans candid moments from three of the most compelling contemporary quarterbacks of the NFL. While Quarterback season 1 featured Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota, Quarterback Season 2 puts Joe Burrow and Jared Goff in the spotlight alongside the returning signal caller, Cousins. The trio, for those unversed, play for the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, and Atlanta Falcons, respectively.

Shannon Furman, Tim Rumpff, and Steve Trout directed Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins, and Joe Burrow in the corresponding order for Quarterback Season 2. All eight episodes of the feature are now available to stream on Netflix. Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that Quarterback seasons 1 and 2 were not Netflix’s simultaneous efforts, but rather the streamer aired a spin-off of the series, titled Receiver, last year.

Following the 2023 season of the NFL, Receiver acted as a new addition to Netflix’s overflowing vault of sports documentaries last year. The spin-off season of the streaming giant’s much-beloved Quarterback featured five pass catchers: Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Comprising yet again of eight episodes, the offering expertly explored the challenges of those taking the titular position on football fields alongside the quarterbacks to form a stealthy NFL team.

Football aficionados, of course, showed immense love to Receiver and helped it shoot to the top of Netflix’s Top 10 charts during its release week. With Quarterback Season 2 featuring the three aforementioned names now at fans' disposal, it seems it is only a matter of when and not if the show will climb the streaming giant’s chart in terms of engagement like Receivers. Joe Burrow’s, Kirk Cousins’s, and Jared Goff’s star power ensures that much at the very least.
