The Harry & Meghan docu-series on Netflix has forever continued to be a matter of interest when it comes to the Sussexes. Last year, at the dawn of December, the couple launched what media houses around the globe, “an outright war against the royal family.” The blooming romance of the military prince and the American actress undoubtedly constituted a significant half of the Netflix Bombshell. However, the explosives launched on the royal family, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle laying bare some of its darkest secrets, was the actual deal.

Nonetheless, we have already witnessed the Sussexs’ side of the story as they narrated through the entire series. And the Palace still continues its policy of maintaining a tight lip on all the accusations. However, the makers of the Netflix blockbuster have something to say. Liz Garbus, an Oscar-nominated Hollywood director, and Dan Cogan, who served the part of the Sussexes as well, sat for an interview with Netflix Queue. In the interview, they break down the entire journey of the series. From the birth of an idea to its proper execution, Garbus described everything.

Creators on the challenges that came along with Harry & Meghan

Running their personal story in adherence to everything that came along proved to be quite a challenge for the team. Diving into their love story inevitably led to sensitive territories like issues surrounding mental health, racism, colonialism play, and so on. Nevertheless, that was the actual goldmine that the team got to explore.

Thus, in a joint statement, Grabus and Cogan said, “The challenge was constantly keeping that personal story in conversation with that context.” Furthermore, “making those threads weave in an even and balanced way throughout” was also a lot of work. “And that was the opportunity,” Garbus said, explaining how it helped them connect the dots to some bigger stories at play.

Garbus Revealed the mastermind behind the docuseries

In the interview, Garbus answered at which point did it occur to her to come up with such revolutionary work. The director revealed how consulting with Meghan Markle about a children’s play eventually gave birth to the chartbuster.

“Meghan brought up the idea of this project,” said Garbus how she found it intriguing. She also brought to our notice that she was never in touch with Prince Harry. They have never been on terms before.
