Five Weeks After Season 1 Aired, ‘One Piece’ Holds Its Spot on Netflix’s Top 10
Ever since the Straw Hat Crew made their way to Netflix, they have garnered not just attention but love, too. Even though fans were initially on the fence about a live adaptation of One Piece by the manga creator, Eiichiiro Oda, the director of the series, Mark Jobst seems to have done an excellent job bringing the beloved anime to life. So far, the series has outdone its competitors and even landed a spot on Netflix’s top 10 shortly after it aired.
Just two weeks after the first season dropped, the series was renewed for another season. And now, nearly 5 weeks later, the show is still dominating the charts and has been gaining even more success.

While the anime franchise and manga have already been extremely popular, it should come as no surprise that the live-action was almost as good as the original. After it aired at the end of August, the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy immediately had fans hooked on the series. It ended up becoming a must-watch for all fans of the franchise and has been breaking record after record since it came out. Now, at the 5-week mark, the series has managed to keep its much-coveted spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10.
The series even managed to stay on the charts after the awaited Sex Education season 4 came out. At week 5, the show fell from the top place but is still on the charts at number 6. So far, fans and users of the streaming platform have streamed the series for 407+ million hours. But it looks like those numbers could only go higher with One Piece‘s popularity.
Thankfully, fans will not have to wait too long for a second season as the streaming giant has already announced its plans for the next season.

The upcoming season of One Piece could probably end up being the most awaited Netflix project of the year. With the first season proving to everyone that the giant can handle adapting animes into live adaptations, it is no wonder that fans are brimming with excitement for the next big adventure. However, with casting rumors of Jamie Lee Curtis flying around, fans may not get much from the series until later.
While the second season was given the green light, there has been no update about the release date. The director recently revealed that he was already working on the project, but it could be a while before fans get another update. However, with the WGA strike over and the SAG-AFTRA strike hopefully reaching its end soon, maybe it will not take too long before One Piece fans are off-sailing the seas with their favorite crew.
