In 2023 when socio-political debates, global warming, and many other earth-shattering phenomena are at an all-time high, the ordinary citizen cannot stop thinking about Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie.  Without giving away anything but the names of those starring in it and the obvious fact that they will be a part of a Barbie world, the upcoming flick has mastered the art of mystery as its marketing agenda. However, given the intrigue, there is only so much that can be kept under the rug. And Ryan Gosling and Marot Robbie’s glittery costumes and the supposed involvement of Dua Lipa in the Barbie movie are not one of them.

The British pop star has emerged as one of the greatest pop artists in recent years. However, it is not just the music that has brought a global fanbase to her. Then there is the fact that the Internet identifies her as a meme and fashion legend. And if you thought Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the same frame as Barbie and Ken were too star-studded, add Dua Lipa to the equation and you are up for bedazzlement.

Is Dua Lipa a part of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie?

Given how little is known about the movie, it has been surrounded by plenty of speculations. However, the ‘New Rules’ singer being a part of it is not one of them. After Greta Gerwig announced the movie, there was little to no information about what it would entail. That is until the official Instagram page of the movie was made.

After the teaser that may or may not have helped hike the ticket sales for Avatar 2 was released, the social media account by the name of @barbiethemovie followed fifteen of its cast. And plus one. The only following of the account that cannot be explained as being a cast member is Dua Lipa.

And now the latest news is that Lipa is allegedly recording the theme song for Barbie and fans cannot contain their excitement.

After the social media activity, fans could not help but believe that she has a track or two in the movie. Speculation about her recording a song for the movie alongside Lana Del Rey followed, however, there has been no official confirmation.

Is the New Rules singer acting in Barbie?

Dua Lips has been confirmed that she will expand her bubble of expertise to acting as well. She is officially a part of Henry Cavill’s Argylle, and her next stop may be Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

Given that she is mostly famous for her singing, it is possible that she is involved in the soundtrack of the upcoming movie. But there have been rumors circulating about the flick consisting of more than one Barbie and Ken. And Dua Lipa might be just one of those Barbies.
