Mike Flanagan is associated with many of the horror titles on the streamer. Now the storyteller returns once again with yet another book adaptation to spine-chilling effects. This time, he’s adapting Christopher Pike’s horror novel, The Midnight Club for Netflix. After receiving critical acclaim for his last series Midnight Mass, fans were waiting for another Flanagan series to drop. The director dropped the news on Twitter that the new horror series is going to come to the platform on October 7.

What’s the plot of The Midnight Club on Netflix?
The series follows a group of seven terminally ill teenagers in a Rotterdam Home. The kids call themselves The Midnight Club because they share a horror story every night before bed. Knowing the harsh reality, they make a pact to stay in touch with each other from the other side even if they pass on, leaving the others. Shortly after, one of them dies. And strange events start taking place at the hospice.

Has the streamer released a trailer for the Flanagan series?
The streamer has unveiled a teaser for The Midnight Club that gave us a brief intro to the main characters and the setting. In the teaser, the group members each take a turn to recite one verse of a macabre poem. The poem ultimately reads: “To those before. To those after. To those near. And to those beyond. Seen or unseen.” Pretty chilling!

When will it hit the platform?
The Midnight Club will drop on October 7 on Netflix. Flanagan has previously adapted other books to scare the socks off viewers. His previous work The Haunting of Hill House was adapted from Shirley Jackson’s work while Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw inspired its sequel, The Haunting at Bly Manor.
