The enigmatic show, which explored the themes of obsessive love between Joe Goldberg and his romantic interests, has always delivered a top-notch performance by Penn Badgley and other star faces like Jenna Ortega, Victoria Pedretti, and others. For its finale, the old characters of his wife Kate Lockwood-Goldberg and brother-in-law Teddy Lockwood were revived. And new faces like Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, and Griffin Matthews had also joined the cast. But apparently, the magic or mania of Goldberg fell short this time.
Taking to the comments section the fans did not held back their feelings about the latest season and fully expressed their dismay.
Fans are not happy with the You finale and X is its witness
When fans started the final season of You, expectations were high, and they were ready for one last wild ride with Joe Goldberg, bookstore manager/psycho k—--. His manipulative genius, which has delivered many intriguing storylines so far with Guinevere, Love Quinn, and others, was expected by fans for another vengeful love story. Though by the end, the problematic lead ends up behind the bars, with his head shaved, paying for his crimes. And fans are bitter about the whole season and its ending.
Some also did not like how the language it used was trying to make it more relatable to the Gen Z instead of making it vocabulary rich. While others felt that episode 9 was a better ending to the show than the finale.
