Netflix does not exactly have a secret recipe for its success, but its knack for expanding its content library, especially by catering to fan cravings, is undeniably a winning move. Of course, doubling down on spin-offs can be a gamble as success is not always a given but some shows tend to rewrite the rules. One such show is Arcane, the spellbinding saga of two sisters entwined in a clash of magic and technology, which has been a fan favorite since its critically acclaimed debut.

As the curtain closed on its second and final season this November, the creators dropped a bombshell about spin-off plans, poised to leave animation fans craving more.

According to a new report by The Direct conducted prior to the release of the show’s second season, co-creator of Netflix’s Arcane, Christian Linke revealed their plans for a potential third installment. The creative team basically never considered the show's extension into a third but hinted at branching with the franchise with multiple spin-offs. As per Linke, the creators are way more interested in “individual stories of certain characters” moving forward from the last season, and pursuing potential spin-offs.

Linke even has a few characters in consideration he and his crew would “definitely” prefer to “continue their stories in their own kind of franchise.” The specifics of where their stories might head are still in the air. However, earlier, he mentioned on a League of Legends creator’s stream that spin-offs are already in the works, with the next series having been in development for roughly a year. This project is expected to focus on Toks Olagundoye Mel Medarda.

When Arcane announced its second season, fans had been buzzing with questions and subsequent theories. But after the installment wrapped up, Linke tackled one of the biggest mysteries surrounding Jinx’s fate.

One of the creative minds behind Netflix’s fan-favorite animated series, Arcane, recently addressed Jinx’s fate as fans could not help but wonder if she was alive after the finale. “I can neither confirm nor deny,” Christian Linke told TechRadar when asked about Jinx. However, Linke shed light on the character’s motivations to give fans a clearer understanding of her goals, explaining that her story revolves around evolving from a clumsy younger sibling into someone who can shoulder responsibility like a big sister.

As per the creator, Jinx achieved her goals, and she grew up to save Isha from the Chem Baron Chross’ men. While Jinx’s dynamic with Isha starkly contrasts her relationship with Vi, by the end of the series, her willingness to sacrifice herself for Vi highlights her ultimate growth. Though her achievements are clear, Linke leaves it up to the fans to determine whether Jinx survived.
