A Grim Prediction: 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Can Turn Ugly for These Two Fan-Favorite Characters

As fans get closer to the Stranger Things Season 5 launch, both anticipation and palpitations start shooting off the roof. Netflix's perennial blockbuster not only serves as a cultural phenomenon but also tickles the fandom's deepest emotions with unexpected twists, and worst of all, deaths. This November, expect a narrative that craftily courts both excitement and dread. With some already placed at the arc's center, eyes are now on what might be the last, and potentially disastrous conclusion for some of the other dearly loved characters. The recently dropped first teaser trailer for the hit sci-fi show looks as ominous as visually stunning.

Now the question is, does more screen time translate to lower chances of survival?

Residents of Hawkins gear up for one last adventure and one final battle against their biggest threat, Vecna. Rumors and expert predictions from the fandom indicate the upcoming season's heavy reliance on the central quartet: Eleven, Will, Steve, and Nancy, with each of them having the most screen time in the teaser. However, the Duffer Brothers seem ready to go all in on Steve and Nancy's arc, this time around, with dangerously high stakes. Given his history, Steve, who has become one of Hawkins' most loved survivors, is likely to sacrifice himself to save the lot, especially after having reconnected with Nancy in the last season.

Meanwhile, fans also have a gut feeling, the sword looms around Nancy's neck as she is still clearly confused about her feelings for both Jonathan and Steve, and was seen clearing blood off her hands in the tense teaser. Rumor has it, either one of them has to meet a horrifying end for the sake of emotionally aggravating storytelling. Fans have flooded social media with intriguing death theories; however, some remain strangely hopeful for unexpected resurrections.

Going into Stranger Things Season 5 expecting a bloodbath has one silver lining: a plausible return of a lost character.

Emotions run wild with fans expecting shocking comebacks

One of the most burning questions the Stranger Things fandom is currently laced with is the possible return of Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn. While Quinn has previously expressed his admiration for the show, fans have been drawing wild theories as to how his character could be resurrected for the grand final battle. Some fans say Munson still exists in Vecna’s mindscape and could be brought back once the monster is defeated.

Even Quinn himself has fueled rumors with cryptic remarks about reappearing in the role. He informed Entertainment Tonight that chances are high that he might have popped onto the Season 5 set. Whether it is Steve sacrificing his life to save Hawkins or Nancy alone among survivors and a wishful grand comeback, the upcoming season promises the most emotionally charged season finale yet.
