Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are working together one more time following their split as One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus. This time, the former bandmates are on a short-run Netflix docuseries documenting their trajectory after One Direction. It is described as a three-part US road trip, presented as an impromptu journey of “reconnection, exploration, and a lot of laughter,” per an official press release. 

The duo's last on-camera shared moment occurred a blue moon ago during the heydays of One Direction, music vids, and group documentaries. The years that followed took them down different directions as Malik departed the band in 2015 and embarked on solo music, while Tomlinson kept dropping solo albums and establishing his own brand. Following the untimely demise of their other bandmate, Liam Payne, in October 2024 in Argentina, this documentary will be their first true emotive reunion in visual form, raising expectations.

As the stakes remain personal, this docuseries is not only a return of the much-loved band but a reconciliation and a self-reflection.

A soft reverberation of memory and nostalgia, the docuseries will explore life, love, loss, and fatherhood, allowing the audience to get a raw perspective on where Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are now. This series, helmed by Nicola Marsh and produced by Campfire Studios, is their first major on-screen reunion after years of distance and intermittent tension, as well as after the tragic passing of Liam Payne. It is set to stream on Netflix sometime in 2026. Across three episodes, the docuseries will offer a glimpse into the notoriously private lives and emotional ruminations of the two former One Direction members.

The show will be centered entirely on Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, with no confirmed involvement from any other ex-One Direction members as yet. Ultimately, this docuseries is more than a show about fame or reunion but a reckoning, re-connection, and a second chance for the two pop sensations to retell their story on their own terms, supplemented by stunning scenery.
