UK branding, lifestyle, and culture expert Nick Ede provided scathing insights to Newsweek regarding Meghan Markle's branding strategy as the second season of her cooking show failed to reach the Top 10 on Netflix. Ede called the show "a side dish rather than a main dish," ultimately declaring that With Love, Meghan season 2 underserved audiences both in terms of guest stars and marketing. He criticized the limited release of her interviews, hinting that the scarcity of "PR push" was indicative of hesitation, not demand.

According to Ede's interview, the show to be renewed for a third season would be highly unlikely, as per Ede, "Netflix is all about algorithms, it's all about viewers, it's all about touch points that create zeitgeisty moments," which was absent from the second season, unlike the first. Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, per the outlet, called it an "obituary" for any prospects of renewal due to Markle's royal brand alongside star power like that of Chrissy Teigen and Tan France failing to amass more viewers than about 5.3 million. Ede characterized the show with several flaws that "didn't elevate it," however, the negative curiosity could perhaps keep it alive.

Based on Netflix's mid-year engagement chart, the series places 383rd with a cumulative 5.3 million viewers. Additionally, critics such as The Daily Beast and The Guardian, among many, have not been kinder, calling Season 2 recycled footage pretending to be new material, or even a gamble for Netflix. However, Eric Schiffer still sees hope for Meghan Markle, saying to the aforementioned outlet, "She's one big creative idea away from making it interesting," in her pitch for a third season, especially as Netflix extends its deal with the Royals
