The Black Phone follows The Grabber, a serial perpetrator of child homicide who kidnaps a teenage boy, Finney. Currently, The Black Phone is unavailable for streaming on Netflix. However, viewers can stream the flick on Peacock, Peacock Premium with a subscription, and on Amazon Prime Video with a free trial.

The Black Phone is available for rent on Amazon for $3.79 and on Apple TV, Fandango At Home, Flix Fling, and Spectrum for $3.99. Viewers can purchase the film on Fandango At Home for $13.99, and on Amazon and Apple TV for $14.99. Scott Derrickson has directed The Black Phone from a screenplay co-authored by C. Robert Cargill. The film grossed a whopping $161.4 million against a $16-$18 million budget, becoming an unexpected hit at the box office.

The highly anticipated follow-up film to The Black Phone, Black Phone 2, is scheduled to hit the theaters on October 17, 2025. Blumhouse Productions recently rolled out the first poster and trailer of Black Phone 2 after the news broke out at the CCXP Festival in Mexico City. Black Phone 2 stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Demián Bichir, Arianna Rivas, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies, Maev Beaty, and Graham Abbey.

Black Phone 2 returns with the story of The Grabber, who seeks revenge against Finney from under the grave by menacing his sister, Gwen. Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill have co-authored the flick based on Joe Hill’s characters. Jason Blum, Derrickson, and Cargill serve as producers, while executive producers include Adam Hendricks and Ryan Turek.
