The Gone Girl style dark comedy mystery that transcended from Lively’s jaw-dropping outfits to a bloody Henry Golding on the floor, A Simple Favor was so much more than what was expected.

First movie success influenced a major decision for Another Simple Favor

Skipping the regular mode of theatrical release, this time the movie has taken up the modern times option of a digital release. But it will not be available to Netflix subscribers, as Another Simple Favor is launching exclusively everywhere on Amazon Prime Video on May 1, 2025. Its director, Paul Feig, spoke to Radio Times about what made him go for a streaming release this time. Talking about A Simple Favor, Feig said that when the movie took off on streaming, it was number one everywhere. He felt that they had a whole new audience for it, so maybe this time they would give streaming a shot.

The male lead, Henry Golding, who is coming back for the sequel, only this time as Anna Kendrick’s on-screen beau, also shared this sentiment. Golding shared that when the Pandemic came, the streaming world boomed, so when he got the call, he knew that was going to happen. The actor also thinks that since it has grown in popularity, so to cater to the fans and “bring in a new group of people to watch this amazing crazy storytelling, I think it's win win for everyone," he shared with Radio Times.

Just a couple of days ago, Another Simple Favor had a fancy New York City premiere for which Blake Lively extended an invitation to her near and dear in the showbiz. And her battalion, including Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy, showed up to support her upcoming movie. Appreciating their gesture, Lively shared some pictures from the event on her Instagram stories and wrote, “I couldn’t love these people more if they were my own blood.”

Also present there to support his wife was Ryan Reynolds, looking sharp, and sharing kisses with Blake Lively, as the two posed in style. The juicy sequel to its first movie, Another Simple Favor, returns with its original cast of Lively, Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, and others. New faces joining them in the sequel are Allison Janney and Michele Morrone for a vacation wedding this time in Italy. The trailer has already created much buzz, and the fans of the first are waiting for its sequel release on Amazon Prime.
