From Geralt to Gold – $50,000,000 Worth Henry Cavill Made More Than Whopping $11,000,000 Over Two Seasons of ‘The Witcher’
Hollywood rewards as much as it takes away. Before making it big on the screens, artists often have to endure long struggles on their part. Then, there are a few who, when they land a role, have a large part of their persona associated with it. Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr., and Henry Cavill are among them. Regardless, even after being a beloved and talented actor, Cavill has had a tumultuous journey of late. 40-year-old Henry Cavill, who essayed the role of Superman and then Geralt in The Witcher, had to let go of both of his titles.
However, Cavill, who starred in three seasons of the Netflix fantasy show, deservedly drew a large chunk of his net worth from it. And the numbers are staggering!

The Witcher bewitched fans with its tales of fantasy and action. However, a large reason for the show’s revered popularity was because of the commanding screen presence and acting prowess of Henry Cavill. So it is no surprise that when signed on the first season, he drew a sum of $400,000 per episode, as reported by Variety. Multiplying it by the eight episodes in all for the season brings the actor’s total draw at a whopping $3.2 million!
As the show progressed, it grew in popularity and so did Cavill’s salary. By the end of season two, the Man of Steel actor earned $1 million per episode. Again, the season had eight episodes, which accumulated to $8 million in total for the entire season. Thus, by the end of the first two seasons, Cavill had already raked in an aggregate of $11.2 million. All of it brought the actor’s net worth to $50 million.
Although Cavill starred in the poorly rated season three, which marked his exit, his salary has not been disclosed for the same.
Nevertheless, Henry Cavill rightfully earned every penny in his The Witcher kitty. However, Cavill does not earn any other royalty or share of profits from Netflix.

A huge talking point in the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes is a demand for fair compensation. As per the union, streaming giants such as Netflix and studios should share profits with the team involved. Simply put, if a show does well, then the artists, writers, and others involved should get a share of the pie as well. However, neither Henry Cavill nor any of the other artists were ever paid any royalty, despite the first two seasons doing well.
Additionally, there have been shocking accusations on Netflix on these lines. Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight spoke out against the non-clearance of season one’s dues. Moreover, recently Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor, Adam Driver too lashed out at the streaming giant. As such, Netflix may want to look inward and rework its strategy of honoring and paying its artists.
