Ye’s ‘Bully’ Earns a Reputation Too Close to Its Title as Fans’ Anticipation Turn Stale After ‘Vultures'

Becoming a Ye aka Kanye West fan is like climbing a mountain of chaos with treacherous twists, no clear summit in sight, and plenty of drama on the way. Yet, Ye’s loyal flock never seems to thin, even as his music and fandom evolve into uncharted territory. Despite his infamous flip-flops and delayed drops, anticipation has always been a constant in his world. But with the still unfinished ‘Vultures’ and tabloids hyping the elusive ‘Bully,’ fan excitement feels more like reheated leftovers than the feast it used to be.

Ye’s ‘Vultures’ is far from finished but outlets are checking fan temperatures every now and then for his forthcoming ‘Bully,’ like it is a consolation prize for the missing record. But as GoodAssSub on X asked the fans whether they were ready for ‘Bully’ with a screenshot declaring vinyl and CD availability upon the album’s release from the official Yeezy website, the fan response was barely electric. Instead, the vibe was more mediocre than mania, with skepticism rounding the room.

Though Ye’s fans have mastered loyalty like no other fan base, his incomplete ‘Vultures’ series followed by the AI speculation overtaking ‘Bully’ before its arrival has become a source of contestation for them. With some citing his penchant for leaving things in half and others imagining the ‘Bully’ rollout to mirror his ‘Vultures’ volumes, fans are finding fewer reasons to hold their breath for the elusive record. While such a reaction was not exactly in the cards for 2024, it is not shocking considering the year they have had to await his music.

Ye’s Bully confronts split reaction from fans, stemming from the leftover fears of Vultures

It may seem like Ye’s fans are well-versed in his contemplative routine of musical rollouts by now. But it only took a nudge to unveil the submerged iceberg of doubts, leaning on the skepticism the Atlanta rapper instilled in his fandom for a year. Though these traits have sooner or later fumbled all of his records, this time, the naysayers were more than his supporters, and none were waving the red flag without a reason.

Many fans who have put limitations on their anticipation cited the indifference they believe will embrace ‘Bully’ and ‘Vultures.’

While some fans cast their vote for next year's release rather than this one, a few could not resist predicting a ‘Vultures’-like rollout for ‘Bully,’ skeptical it would even see the light of the day in the next decade. With more gloom than cheer flooding the thread, Ye might as well need to take a page out of the ‘Vultures’ playbook because, at this rate, ‘Bully’ is living up to its name a little too well.
