While performing for her Eras Tour back in 2023, Taylor Swift presented the audience with an unexpected question at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Circled by a cheery crowd, she asked them, “Do you really wanna know where I was April 29th?” and then tuned out her song ‘High Infidelity,’ from the 3 a.m. Edition of her album ‘Midnights’. This had the Swifties turn into Sherlock mode, and they soon concluded that this date has indirectly to do with the year 2016, when Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris, and Rihanna dropped their popular track, ‘This is what you came for’.

Well, Taylor Swift never answered her own question, but when fans put the puzzle together, they found that on the night of April 28, the singer was celebrating her dear friend, Gigi Hadid’s birthday at The Nice Guy in Los Angeles. Hadid even shared a picture from the party with Swift and other friends. And in the early morning hours of April 29, Swift was spotted leaving the party.

But besides the Hadid sweet memory, the date has a lot to do with Calvin Harris and his song, which later turned out to be penned by Swift.

When Calvin Harris discredited then girlfriend Taylor Swift from song collaboration

In the past, Taylor Swift has given some of her own written songs to friends and fellow musicians and has also collaborated with many of them. Similarly, Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s This is what you came for’, released on April 29, 2016, was reportedly written by Swift, who was dating Harris at that time. But to conceal this information, she went to the extent of using the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg for the lyrics credit. But when Harris was asked, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, about whether he ever planned on collaborating with Swift, the Scottish producer denied it, saying he does not see it happening.

Reportedly, this hurt Taylor Swift so bad that it caused a rift, and soon, in May, the pair broke up. As per Cosmopolitan, Swift reportedly felt that Calvin Harris “disrespected” her by completely discrediting her involvement. These two significant events happened related to Swift on April 29 in 2016. Though the singer never made a public confirmation but eagle-eyed Swifties believe these were the events she referenced while performing in Atlanta for the Eras Tour two years ago.
