Earlier this year, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner became the talk of the town. It was one of those pairings nobody saw coming, just like no one expected Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian to become a couple. But sure enough, both Saturday Night Live stars not only dated the Kardashian-Jenner sisters but also found themselves accused of channeling Ye, aka Kanye West. Recently, Chalamet got some playful jabs from the 'Donda' rapper's fans after allegedly trying to steal one of Ye’s most iconic looks.   

Timothée Chalamet recently swung by the University of Minnesota to check out a marching band rehearsal. For the event, he wore an orange-and-blue striped long-sleeve collared shirt that looked identical to the one Ye wore back in 2004 during the release of his 'College Dropout' album. Chalamet, however, was not the first to rock this iconic look. Last year, Ye’s daughter, North West, did the same thing.

While in Japan with her mom, Kim Kardashian, North West was seen wearing the exact same striped polo, even adding a gold chain to complete the look just like her dad. Fans were totally impressed with North’s style, but of course, that was because she is Ye’s daughter. When it came to Chalamet, though, fans were more likely to poke fun than praise.

Fans took to X to tease him for trying to copy Ye right after being linked to a Kardashian.

Timothée Chalamet has been pretty open about his love for hip-hop legend, Ye. As someone who once dabbled in rap under the alter ego Lil Timmy Tim, Chalamet once gushed about the dream moment when he found himself face-to-face with Ye at a Malibu restaurant years ago. So, it is really no surprise that Chalamet might borrow a style or two from Ye. But that did not stop fans from having some fun at his expense.

That said, many fans came to Chalamet’s defense, pointing out that just because he wore a similar shirt, it does not mean he was copying Ye.

Who can blame Chalamet, though? Even Travis Scott- who is both a friend of Ye and Kylie Jenner’s ex- was accused of trying to copy Ye. As for Chalamet and Jenner, they are still going strong despite the fake breakup rumors. And considering Chalamet’s long-time love for Ye, it seems pretty unlikely that his relationship with a Kardashian would be the reason behind him 'copying' Ye’s fashion, if that is even what it is.
