However, after the LA wildfires, the future of the ceremony, alongside many other high-profile marquee events, peek from the cliffhanger. According to The Hollywood Reporter, discussions are in the works to either postpone the CBS show and the events associated with it or “pivot the broadcast into a fundraiser.”
A senior executive sided with the likelihood of postponement because of the fire that sparked several red alerts for prestigious gatherings until further notice. But another source from the record industry said the next few days will be detrimental in determining if the show will go on. As per the outlet, Recording Academy head Harvey Mason Jr. has been contemplating all the scenarios since plans are also in place for a benefit concert in the days leading up to Grammy Awards.
Although the Recording Academy has been considering every what-if with considerable attention, the problems are not just logistical.

The event traditionally requires numerous hotel rooms to accommodate artists and their teams alongside the guests.

Additionally, musicians have the responsibility of carrying instruments, and the outlet reports several businesses have already suffered from “label staffers” to publicists for artists like Billie Eilish and The Weeknd, Although the Recording Academy postponed the Grammys before, twice to be precise, the fate of this year’s edition hangs in the air still.
