After Super Bowl Rumors, Taylor Swift Finds a Supporter in Charles Barkley Amidst Backlash From NFL Fanatics
Stemming from the USA’s two favorite industries of football and entertainment, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are replacing peanut butter and jelly as the new duo heating the cultural crockpot in the nation. This unlikely pairing of pop-chart queen and football maestro has become the talk of the town lately, especially now that the Chiefs have entered the Super Bowl LVIII ballot. Now with the historic championship just around the corner, some NFL fans are bothered by the prospect of seeing Swift at the games.
As those opposed to Swift’s NFL presence grow louder, some like Charles Barkley are clapping back for her sake.

During a King Charles segment on CNN yesterday, Charles Barkley made a rather strong statement about Swift’s haters. Turning to look directly into the camera, the commentator declared that if “you’re screaming” about Swift being at this year’s Super Bowl, “you’re a loser or a “jack**s”. Even Bob Costas who had joined him for the episode felt that the “entertainment” factor through “half-time shows” had always been a part of Super Bowl.
Then, co-host Gayle King went on to add to their argument by stating the fact that NFL viewership had gone up by a large percentage since even “teenage girls” tune in to watch matches because of Swift nowadays. According to Costas, her presence might “up” the Super Bowl’s popularity further, even if through merchandise sales of Kelce’s “jerseys”. Well, Super Bowl authorities have taken that into consideration as well.
It was revealed recently that the sports body may want to cash in on the hype around Swift next year.
Super Bowl may approach for 2025 halftime show
Recently, reports emerged that Apple Music and the halftime show team of the Super Bowl hope to have Swift perform at the iconic event in 2025. Apparently, negotiations are already ongoing regarding this, even though Swift has a disdain for this NFL event. So far, she has never performed at a half-time show unlike the majority of her peers in the music industry.

Well, the sports conglomerate probably recognizes the potential for increased viewership through the pop sensation and her romance with Kelce. After all, their relationship also received a nod from the Kansas City Chiefs’ coach recently. So, it is a success story much like Kelce’s touchdowns or Swift’s chartbuster. Only time will tell whether Super Bowl authorities will manage to make this happen.
