How Did ‘Bridgerton’ Star Luke Thompson AKA Benedict Bridgerton Prepare For the “bum scenes”?
Luke Thompson, who plays the role of Benedict Bridgerton in Bridgerton season 2, gave us some insights into how he built his physique for the second season. Benedict is the younger brother of Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey. In season 2, we will witness that Anthony, the Viscount, is all ready for marriage and looking for a bride. There come two newcomers on the show, Kate Sharma and Edwina Sharma.
But from the trailer, we have already a hint that there will be a love triangle between the Sharma sisters and Anthony Bridgerton. However, in the same trailer and the teaser before that, we see Benedict in throes of passion with an unidentified female. Needless to say, like the first season, we will see other siblings dealing with their love life in season 2.

Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley will surely lead season 2 of Bridgerton Luke Thompson is likely to get considerable screen time, as well. Since season 3 and season 4 are already renewed by Netflix, next season will follow Benedict Bridgerton. Meanwhile, season 4 will likely develop around Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Regardless, we will see plenty of the 2nd Bridgerton brother through the series, which explains why Thompson has a vigorous workout regimen to stay fit.
Luke Thompson workout regimen for Bridgerton season 2
Benedict has very limited interest in taking part in these social titles. He really wants to focus on his art, with limited responsibilities. However, the series never shies away from showing intimated scenes involving him. In a conversation with The Times of London, Luke Thompson claimed he worked out with his personal trainer to maintain his physique. It’s just not the lead characters, even the other cast members have to work hard to retain fitness.
When asked for what scenes he was working out so hard for, the 33-year-old actor quipped, “the bum scenes, I guess”. He also explains that when you are a part of a romantic show, you have to look the part.

With his character in Bridgerton, Thompson says he doesn’t want to look like a “beefcake” but still remain fit enough to seem pleasing on-screen. He confesses regularly doing squats, lunges, and other muscle-toning exercises. Apparently, his trainer was merciless in his training. He had to follow this exercise regime until he was “pale in the face and wanting to throw up.”
