In his memoir titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, the 53-year-old actor confessed the details about his relationship with the Notting Hill actress. When Perry invited her for the cameo, she candidly stated one condition. It was that she would star alongside Chandler Bing’s character. The actress also asked the American-Canadian actor to write a paper on Quantum Physics for her. But the flirting and romance only lasted for two months. 

Perry confessed in his memoir that he was afraid of being dumped by her. He was not in a very healthy place mentally. He said, “Instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts.”
