Scarlett Johansson is the June cover star of Vanity Fair and recently sat down for a long, detailed interview with them. Speaking on her potential Marvel return, the actress shared that she has said her farewell to the iconic character and wishes not to ruin her arc with a reapproach. Johansson shared that she misses her movie buddies and would love to be with them forever, “but what works about the character is that her story is complete. I don’t want to mess with that.”
As per Johansson, it would be very hard for her to understand in what capacity returning would make sense for her. The actress envisions no future for Natasha Romanoff, who got a noble ending by sacrificing herself for one of the Infinity Stones. Though her fellow Avengers Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. are making a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday, out of which the latter shared a recent movie update, Johansson has long left that part of her life behind. Moreover, this year Johansson’s schedule is jam-packed with two releases.
Johansson is working on Eleanor the Great, which she is directing, marking her directorial debut, and Jurassic World: Rebirth. And she has recently revealed that after her work in Jurassic World: Rebirth, she has faced some pressure from the studios regarding promotion.
Scarlett Johansson's social media aversion brought her trouble with Universal Studios
Scarlett Johansson is one of those rare Hollywood A-listers who have no presence on any social media platforms, a decision she continues to maintain despite mounting pressure. Recently, she was pressured by Jurassic World: Rebirth‘s Universal Pictures, who wanted the actress to join Instagram to promote the movie, but she refused. As per InStyle, Johansson shared, "I get a lot of pressure to join social media," though she has social accounts for her beauty line in which she sometimes appears.

With these releases and her beauty brand, Scarlett Johansson has moved past Marvel in life. A month ago, when Marvel unboxed its mystery-filled Avengers: Doomsday spectacular cast, the fandom went crazy. The reveal was a slow burn, as each cast member disclosed information in the multiple-hour livestream. But by the end, the movie only promised two of the original six Avengers and left many hoping for a Natasha Romanoff screen presence, but with the above admittance, Johansson had put an end to all the speculations.
