In a small American town, a 200-pound, friendly St. Bernard is nipped in a cave by a rabid bat. This random act triggers a tragic sequence as the dog, previously gentle and reliable, grows increasingly erratic, violent, and unpredictable. At the same time, a suburban family, the Trentons, already beset by adultery and emotional alienation, unknowingly encounters this berserk feline in 1983's Cujo. Stranded in a car with no means of escape, the Trenton mother-son duo is subjected to the relentless assaults of the animal.

Adapted from Stephen King's novel, the friendly animal, no longer tame but violent, leads the film's gore elements, making their sanctuary a prison. Its cast includes Dee Wallace as Donna Trenton, Danny Pintauro as Tad Trenton, Daniel Hugh-Kelly as Vic Trenton, Christopher Stone as Steve Kemp, Ed Lauter as Joe Camber, Kaiulani Lee as Charity Camber, Billy Jacoby as Brett Camber, and Frank Welker as Cujo's vocal effects. Cujo essentially wraps fear and loneliness, blending atmospheric horror with psychological horror in a 93-minute heart-pounding evergreen terror-marathon.
