It has been three years since Euphoria season 2 wrapped up with a dramatic finish, leaving fans with plenty of unanswered questions about the characters' futures. Since then, the show’s breakout star, Sydney Sweeney, has gone on to have a full-fledged career in Hollywood. After becoming a household name with the show and witnessing a remarkable rise in the industry, she is returning to her TV roots this year, back into the shoes of her most iconic character, Cassie Howard.

The flight for the third season is in the air, and on board is more craziness and drama, as Sydney Sweeney promises the fans.

While shooting for Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney took a small detour to Europe for other work commitments and there, gave an exclusive interview to Empire Magazine. Speaking about her work equation with show creator Sam Levinson, the actress said that Levinson is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with “because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.”

Sweeney further spoke on her attachment to the character, saying that she has such a spot in her heart for Cassie and holds her really close and dear. Sweeney admits that Cassie is crazy and makes so many mistakes. She is flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. The Immaculate star further added, “It could be a sad version of love as well". While Sweeney is all eager to revisit her iconic character, there has been a long delay in the third part's filming.

The last season left the audience with some big questions and promised bigger entertainment, but it has all been hanging in the air for three years now.

After the phenomenal success of seasons 1 and 2, and given its massive popularity, it was a big surprise when Euphoria halted in its tracks after 2022. But they had some legitimate reasons for it. The biggest issue was coordinating schedules, as the cast, full of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and others, had a jam-packed schedule. While Zendaya got busy shooting for The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4 with slated releases in 2026, Jacob Elordi went on to shoot Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie.

 Meanwhile, Colman Domingo joined hands with Sydney Sweeney and is stepping behind the camera for his directorial debut, Scandalous!, starring her. As for Sweeney, she herself got a bunch of projects lined up in 2025, but not making the fans wait any longer, she and the cast are back to shooting the third installment of Euphoria. And as promised by the beautiful Cassie Howard herself, a crazy and unhinged ride awaits, hopefully in 2025 only.
