Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Regular Spot, Turf Pub Remains Open Despite Blaze
Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took the saddle of Wrexham AFC, the town has reflected the success. The co-owners joint venture to establish the Welcome to Wrexham series has mounted news for the town’s mundane and celebratory causes. The American sports documentary series has often featured a pub called the Turf Pub. Well frequented by the business moguls, it had also become patrons of other Hollywood stars.
However, according to recent reports, the Turf Pub had recently caught fire, prompting them to shut down.

On Friday afternoon, Wayne Jones, the landlord of Turf Pub, took to his socials to announce the fire. He explained that, due to unseen circumstances, the boiler room had been set ablaze and had to be shut down. Jones reassured that no one was hurt. However, later that day, he announced the pub was open yet again. Following a rally from local traders, the roadhouse witnessed an astounding crowd.
Hence, by Friday evening, Turf Pub was back in business. Jones took to his socials and wrote, “We’ve had people in and are legally allowed to trade. We will be open at 4 PM (Somehow).” He also addressed his customers and thanked them for their support. Previously, Paul Rudd was also spotted one day enjoying his glass of beer with the Wrexham fans.
Although Turf Pub managed to turn its back on the shutdown scare this time, this is not the first time it had a similar close call.

Owing to the Welcome to Wrexham series’s relentless promotion of the pub, Turf Pub remains queued up, mostly. The location being outside Wrexham AFC’s grounds is a bonus for the business. However, the day when Wrexham AFC overtook Boreham by 3-1, fans became fanatic. Jones revealed that the pub was “drunk dry” with over 450 people still queued up.
As a result, the Turf Pub had to close its doors, given they had nothing left to serve. Apart from Wrexham’s promotion, Turf Pub has a history of its own. The Wrexham AFC was itself found in the Turf in 1864. Given its notable history, it is quite apparent why it is featured in numerous works, not only by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney but also by other individuals.
