Royal author Ingrid Seward blames the halted reconciliation between the brothers largely on Prince William's profound distrust of Meghan Markle. Appearing in an interview with Fox News, Seward shared insights on what has expanded the rift between the brothers, who have allegedly not spoken to each other in over two years. According to the author, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's series of tell-all ventures, such as interviews, Netflix deals, memoirs, and more, have caused a significant breach of trust between the Sussexes and the Waleses. Seward even deemed Markle as "damaging to the royal family," and "flea in the ointment," and utterly disliked by Prince William.

Meanwhile, Seward also put forth Prince Harry's side of the story, wherein he "thinks that William insulted Meghan," which seems to have created an "animosity" between the siblings. Seward analyzed the dilapidated family dynamics of the Markles, zeroing in on a contributing factor to the Markle hate train. Seward believes the Royals and public alike resent Markle for dissing her husband’s family as well as her own. Prince Harry and his children never meeting Markle Sr is "extremely odd" and incomprehensible to the author. This, along with other factors, has only widened the rift, making the reconciliation difficult than ever.
