In the ever-spinning carousel of showbiz, where attention spans now vanish faster than a TikTok transition, earning cult status is nothing short of alchemy. But long before streaming services gamified binge culture, a select few shows, movies, and franchises cracked the code. They did not just captivate the audiences; they moved in, rearranged the furniture, and left their theme songs echoing through living rooms for years. Some were so iconic, viewers did not need opening credits when a few notes could spark instant recognition. However, not every classic came with lyrics, like in The Office, or so fans thought until Rainn Wilson broke the ice.

The Office’s instrumental theme, which whistled in workplaces and break rooms like a low-key anthem of the modern grind, is not a wordless tune. At least, for Dwight Schrute, it is not. On a recent episode of Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast, the host pointed out to Rainn Wilson that The Office theme song did not have lyrics. In the same breath, he also revealed that he knew Wilson made his own lyrics to the theme.

The actor sang the classic at first, tuning into “it’s been a very long time” like it is part of the track. However, upon Minhaj’s insistence, Wilson finally took out his phone and sang along to the lyrics. “The Office/ A show about a boss/ Mostly it’s a show about Dwight,” he sang. “Show is a lot of fun/ Mostly Dwight’s a lot of fun. Remember Stanley? Mostly I remember Dwight,” Wilson continued, summoning a universal laughter.

While Rainn Wilson’s The Office recollection was enough to transport fans in time, it prompted a further probe of curiosity about the reboot in development.

All about The Office reboot

The Office is one of the select few shows that still binds its loyal legion in comfort. After years of speculation, The Office reboot earned an official green light from Peacock. Word on the street suggests the remake would be called The Papers. However, there is still a lack of confirmation about the same. According to the reports, Sabrina Impacciatore, Domhnall Gleeson, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Eric Rahill are also part of the reboot. Last November, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts were announced as well. Oscar Nuñez is the first actor to reprise his role in the forthcoming reboot as Oscar Martinez from the original series. However, another crucial character, Steve Carell, is set to be a no-show in The Office reboot.
