Prince Harry’s ‘Heart of Invictus’ Leaves a “bitter taste in the mouth”- Daily Mail Editor
The beginning of this year for the Sussexes rivaled the time they made the never-before-heard move of resigning from the position of senior royals owing to their Netflix docuseries. The first fruit of the much talked about $100 million deal that became the subject of aww for fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Given the content of the docuseries, the Duke found himself at the receiving end of much criticism. All of which he hoped to change with his next docuseries, Heart of Invictus.
A stark contrast from the recent projects that the Californian royal has been a part of, Heart of Invictus was supposed to be the Duke’s renaissance. But he might have flunked this test.

Following months of criticism, the Prince’s second collaboration with Netflix, Heart of Invictus, was supposed to usher in a new era. The docuseries was about injured veterans and how the Invictus Games, the mastermind behind which is Prince Harry, has helped them focus on what they can still achieve. And not just Sussex fans, but also those interested in sports were excited to witness it unfold. While most are yet to finish watching the docuseries, the Daily Mail Editor, Richard Eden has already declared a “bitter taste in his mouth” after watching the docuseries.
The culprit behind this bitterness was, according to Eden, the Prince’s inability to not make things about himself. At no point did the viewers expect the Duke to reveal caustic prose delivered by his estranged family in the Heart of Invictus docuseries. Nonetheless, he chose to weave in a few lines about not having a support system.
Prince Harry also spoke of his late mother again in the docuseries and how her death was “never discussed” by the royal family. And all this has left a bitter taste in some mouths. But despite himself and his supposed inability to not make things about himself, the Duke has delivered quite an interesting watch with Heart of Invictus.

The much-awaited docuseries follows the participants of the Invictus Games. While the synopsis is pretty simple, its impact has broken through layers of criticisms that were heaped on Prince Harry. Barring the few minutes where he sits down and discusses his troubled affairs with his family, he generously sheds the spotlight on the veterans. And knowingly or unknowingly, the Duke has delivered the much called for evidence of his selflessness that netizens demanded.
While the Netflix docuseries features a smooth sailing game, the making was nothing short of rough according to Prince Harry’s memoir. It included a lot of rejections and supposedly jealousy on behalf of Prince William. But the Duke has finally made it to the finish line, although whether he came in first or last is still up for questioning.
