Prince Harry paid an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Friday, September 12, marking his second trip to the war-torn country this year. Before confirming his trip to the European nation, Prince Harry, per his account to The Guardian, sought approval from Meghan Markle and clearance from the British government, saying that only after they said “OK” to his plan did he accept the official invitation. The Duke of Sussex spent the day in Kyiv alongside his Invictus Games Foundation, which supports wounded, sick, and injured armed forces members.
After traveling into the country by train, Prince Harry told The Guardian that while true war cannot be stopped, efforts must be made to help those affected recover. Prince Harry, on his latest Ukraine trip, too, pledged significant support to those in need. Meanwhile, his most recent round of foreign activities also marked a personal milestone.
