Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are among the many people raising awareness about the devastating wildfires. Town & Country recently confirmed that the couple has donated to relief efforts through their Archewell Foundation, contributing clothing, children’s items, and other essentials to those affected. Earlier today, the Sussexes shared ways to support those impacted by the disaster on their website as well.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have even opened their Montecito home to their loved ones who were forced to evacuate because of the Southern California fires. They have also encouraged others to do the same by offering shelter to those in need. However, their own home is not entirely out of harm’s way. Recently, some reports suggested that their $14 million mansion might also be at risk due to the fires.

Could Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $14 million Montecito home be in danger?

The Sussexes’ home in Montecito, California, could face potential power outages, as their property is located in Santa Barbara County—a region currently classified as a high-fire risk area. According to The Telegraph, Southern California Edison has warned that Public Safety Power Shutoffs may be necessary in those areas, and parts of Montecito are already under power shutoff warnings.

Given these warnings, Prince Harry and Markle may be preparing to leave their home, where they live with their two young children. While Montecito has not seen fires directly so far, there was a major blaze in Malibu, about 70 miles from their property. It is unclear why the Sussexes are bringing evacuees into their homes despite the risks, but it is a testament to their dedication to helping others during a crisis.
