Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘Desperate’ for Royal Reunion? Experts Reveal the Real Agenda

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from the palace gates to craft a life far from royal protocol, and luckily enough, high-profile deals and global headlines followed them in sunny California, too. But is the glitter of independence now starting to dim? The murmurs are growing louder about the Sussexes’ possible reconciliation with the Crown, and the development has left many wondering what could pull the duo back into the fold they once fled. According to one royal expert, it is not nostalgia or duty, but a "desperate" motive driving their reunion.

After senior aides to both Prince Harry and King Charles met in London earlier this month, speculation has been growing louder about a royal reconciliation being on the cards. A royal expert, however, has now weighed in on the reason he believes is behind the recent talks between both parties. Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show recently, royal expert Robert Jobson claimed that the said peace talks between the King and his second-born may be linked to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal drawing to a close. Per the expert, the pair could now be seeking “handouts” from the throne.

Commenting on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s USD 100 million deal with Netflix, Robert Jobson said that after the duo failed to deliver the kind of results the streamer expected — leading to whisper that the platform might not be interested in engaging in any further business with the couple — they are left with “a bit of a bowl out.” Per the expert, perhaps that is why Prince Harry's team crossed the pond to have discussions with the King recently. Also on The Sun’s show was Sky News’ royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills, who addressed what the Montecito residents would do financially when their deal with Netflix expires in September.

For those unversed, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry delivered three shows for Netflix since inking their USD 100 million deal with the platform in 2020. While their first work with the streaming giant, their docuseries titled Harry & Meghan, did bring in modest viewers, their latter two endeavors, the Suits alum's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan and Prince Harry’s polo documentary titled Polo, failed to draw in an audience. Hence, the speculation of Netflix now being disinterested in the pair. Citing the same, Rhiannon Mills says it will be tough for the pair to sustain their lucrative lifestyle in the future.

Rhiannon Mills shared with The Sun: "They have this very expensive lifestyle. They have to pay for their security, pay for that big mansion. How do you kind of keep the money coming in?” Notably, Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that Netflix deals were never part of his plan. Hence, it could be that the Spare author already has a contingency plan in place, leaving him and his family not as desperate for money as reported after all.
