Murphy’s magnetic presence, along with the gripping narrative and grim atmosphere, contributed to the show’s success. Though the show ended, fans continued to laud his acting prowess. And now Margot Robbie has joined in the ever-growing craze for the character.

Margot Robbie and Cillian Murphy sat down for Variety’s Actors on Actors after having a successful year. In this conversation, the Barbie actress opened up about Peaky Blinders, the show that solidified Murphy’s status as a celebrated actor. She said there were only two types of people: those who loved this series and those who did not. “I obviously sit in the first category, so can we please talk about Tommy f***ing Shelby for just one minute?” she exclaimed.

She pointed out that the show was a huge part of the Inception star’s career. To this, he responded, “Yeah, it’s like 10″ and recalled the adventure that lasted for one decade. The period crime drama came to the screen for the first time in 2013 and the last season was broadcast in 2022. Throughout its run, the show received much love from viewers and left a detectable cultural impact in the UK.

While expressing her love for the show, Robbie also asked Murphy another important question that fans have been plastering on almost all social media platforms.

Will Peaky Blinders be adapted to the big screen? 

In the same conversation, the Suicide Squad actress asked the Irish actor, “Is there going to be a spinoff movie?”. To this, Murphy shared his insight that he has always been open to the idea. Much like fans, he believes that there was more left to the story. This response filled Margot Robbie with excitement, and she urged him to do it.

The series ended with Thomas Shelby riding off into the sunset, opening the door to a big-screen adaptation. However, it remains unclear if it is going to happen or not. Until now, fans have been holding onto the promises the leading star has made to them. But this interview was a hint to the progression of the project.
