In an interview with Variety, Jennifer Aniston talked about Alex’s choices when it comes to the men in her life. The 54-year-old was asked if she thought Alex was a “bad picker” of men, having twice gone for somebody “viewed as dangerous”. According to Aniston, who has had a rather tumultuous love life herself, being a “successful woman” is no easy feat to pull off and the love life takes a backseat.
She also accepted that Alex had “loved” Mitch who left in the first season due to sexual misconduct allegations. For her, when one has “so many other things” to deal with, analyzing men ends up at the lower end of the “to-do list”. Well, she also attributed Alex’s “failed marriage” with Jason Craig to this aspect. Additionally, she hinted that the next season might explain why Alex carries this trait too.
On the other hand, Witherspoon, who plays Bradley Jackson, had a contrasting opinion on it all.

While the Friends sensation delivered a straight-to-the-point answer to the question regarding Alex, Witherspoon felt that the query itself was flawed. Well, she wanted to make it “clear” that females should not be labeled as “bad pickers” if they have suffered the misfortune of landing with a disagreeable partner. According to her, nobody should pass that “judgment” from the sidelines.
Much like her impulsive and fierce character of Bradley, she did a thought-provoking take on why Alex ended up in such situations. She preferred to allow the character to claim her power and be “brave enough” to have her heart shattered by whomever she pleases. Similar to The Morning Show, it seems like the 47-year-old’s beliefs kept the female perspective at its center.
