Man of Steel served as a game-changer for Henry Cavill. The actor who had been waiting to be part of a major franchise, finally got his due with the 2013 movie. It came right after the successful execution of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. And as the news of the filmmakers’ involvement in the relaunched Superman movie surfaced, fans became increasingly curious to see how Nolan would bring new life to the iconic character. However, the movie did more than just catapulting Cavill to success. 

Man of Steel also became a foundation for a friendship between Christopher Nolan and the director Zack Snyder. Ahead of the release of his next big project, Snyder opened up about his bond with Nolan in an interview. 

Zack Snyder considers Christopher Nolan as his closest filmmaker friend 

Everyone who knows the kind of magic Zack Snyder creates on-screen is eagerly counting the days to the release of Rebel Moon. Especially after the trailer release, the buzz around the movie grew even more. Amidst such excitement, Snyder sat down for an interview with Wired on Tuesday, where he revealed that Christopher Nolan is his go-to and the one he is “closest” to out of all the filmmakers in the industry. Snyder credited Man Of Steel for this bond as the film enabled both filmmakers to work closely throughout the process. 

Other than Nolan, Zack Snyder also mentioned Todd Phillips’ name while talking about the people he runs into. While Man of Steel forged a bond between Snyder and Nolan, there is something that serves as a common ground between the Rebel Moon director and Henry Cavill.

In the same interview, Zack Snyder made a confession about binge-playing video games for hours. He was so addicted to it that at one point it got on the nerves of his wife. The director revealed being a fan of Fortnite and also shared his skin- Mr. Meeseeks, from Rick and Morty. “If you’ve been killed by Meeseeks, that could have been Zack Snyder”, added the filmmaker while bragging about his video game combatting skills.

Much like Snyder, Henry Cavill is obsessed with video games and even starred in Warhammer 4k. He spends hours with them to seek refuge from his demanding work life. Cavill also created a local network of 4 or 5 computers with his father and four brothers, who were also fond of PC gaming. Despite Snyder and Cavill’s common interest, there is no sign of them collaborating anytime soon. Until then, fans can tune in to the upcoming blockbuster release of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, set to grace screens on December 15.
