Henry Cavill was born to Marianne and Colin Cavill on May 5, 1983. The actor grew up in Jersey, a small British island. In an interview with Interview magazine in 2013, Cavill shared that his mother worked at a bank, while his father heads his management team and also works in finance. He also mentioned that his parents are “very practical people” who taught Cavill to remain humble and grateful for what he has.

Cavill grew up with four brothers – Piers, Niki, Simon, and Charlie and he still fondly recalls growing up having video game battles with his siblings. In a 2019 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, however, Cavill said it would have been easier being the youngest in the family because his parents were less strict. "The eldest gets the toughest game," said Cavill. Still, he has always praised his mother’s parenting skills.

In 2021, Cavill publicly celebrated his mother by teaching him how to live with honor and integrity.

Two years ago, on International Women’s Day, Henry Cavill took to social media with a heartfelt message. Alongside the message, he posted a picture of himself as a young boy sitting on his mother’s lap with a huge grin. He wanted his followers to know that the “little boy” in the image had learned so much from her, especially what it means to be a “good man.”
