King Charles has recently raised concerns about the negative impact of social media on the youth, a stance supported by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a long time. The King reportedly held a private 40-minute meeting with Reverend Tommy MacNeil, the head of the mental health charity on the Isle of Lewis called the Shed Project, at Balmoral Castle. He was "very concerned" and completely focused on how social media is degrading children's mental health, per The Mirror.

According to the outlet, King Charles actively engaged in and appreciated Reverend MacNeil's work and "really understood the problems and the difficulties involved in combating" the harms of social media. The King's words reflected the work done by the Sussexes in April, when the couple dedicated the Lost Screen Memorial to kids who perished as a result of toxic online content in New York. Their shared social concern has now been seen as a bridge to close the gap created in the royal family.

Whether this meeting represented a new beginning or merely the first hesitant steps is to be determined; however, their central unifying concern seems to be the unregulated scope of social media.
