The Housemaid
Freida McFadden's best-selling novel finds a new life in the upcoming psychological thriller, The Housemaid, which promises to keep the audience on their toes throughout. Sydney Sweeney stars in the role of Millie Calloway, a woman with a troubled past who gets hired to be the live-in maid of the affluent Winchester family. However, the Winchester estate's surface is dotted with eerie, menacing secrets.
Amanda Seyfried plays Nina Winchester, Brandon Sklenar is her husband Andrew, and Michele Morrone plays Enzo, the mysterious groundskeeper, all under the direction of Paul Feig, who is best known for Bridesmaids, A Simple Favor, and more. The Housemaid will be theatrically released in the US on December 19, 2025.
Scandalous!
Colman Domingo debuts his directorial vision with Scandalous!, a biopic of a glamorous and forbidden Tinseltown romance. Starring Sydney Sweeney as the leading actress, portraying the rebellious actress Kim Novak, the film captures the saga of her love with David Jonsson in the role of Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr., set in 1950s Hollywood.

This Miramax production turns time back to the provocative, secret, and ultimately doomed love affair between Novak with Davis Jr., touching issues of racism, public image, and the people’s scrutiny. There is no official release date for Scandalous! yet.
That Man From Rio
Sydney Sweeney has been linked to the star cast of a modern remake of the classic 1964 French adventure-comedy That Man From Rio, which starred Jean-Paul Belmondo and Françoise Dorléac. This new rendition is taking shape under the direction of Fast & Furious fame Justin Lin, making it as daring as the original movie.

Sweeney is also lined up for the position of an executive producer, hence making a bold change in both the acting and creative directions. That Man From Rio will add another Apple Original Film to her resume, following Echo Valley, also featuring Julianne Moore.
Barbarella
In a pulse-pounding sci-fi fantasy, Sydney Sweeney will head the new Barbarella remake, a re-imagining of the celebrated role that once belonged to Jane Fonda. The original film, later marketed as Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy, directed by Roger Vadim, based on Jean-Claude Forest's French comic series, was released in 1968.
Director Edgar Wright is tapped as the captain behind the camera, though no release date has been announced yet. Meanwhile, Sweeney is also on the list of executive producers.
Though the star of the original 1968 movie has expressed concerns about Sydney Sweeney taking on the role, excitement still builds for her spearheading yet another iconic female character after Euphoria, which ignites pop culture debates with ease.
Upcoming Sydney Sweeney TV Show
Dominating the silver screen is just too easy for Sydney Sweeney as she will also return as Cassie Howard, the character that put her on the map in HBO's Euphoria. She is going to be back for the third season, along with Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and more, accompanied by new faces like Sharon Stone, Rosalia, and Natasha Lyonne, among others. The season is generally speculated to be unleashed in the spring of 2026 with a time-jump and darker turns.
