The Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow cast is a lineup more compelling than what lies on the dark side of the moon. Milly Alcock, once again, has stepped into the role of Kara Zor-El, promising an edgier Supergirl, per James Gunn's confirmed liking. As the yin to the alien hero's yang, Matthias Schoenaerts will be in the guise of the merciless pirate assassin, Krem of the Yellow Hills, according to the DC intel reports.
Eve Ridley has been cast as Ruthye Marye Knoll, the young sidekick set to accompany Supergirl on her quest. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham play the very reason Supergirl even exists: her parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze.
And just for good measure, Jason Momoa will appear as Lobo, the charismatic intergalactic bounty hunter. Almost as if the timelines of the Momoa-adorned Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon set a dove free between them.
DC's directorial merry-go-round finally seems to be preparing to park. And Supergirl has hitched a ride for herself right on Superman's coattails.
DC finally getting their universe right?
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has marked a distinct narrative pivot for DC Studios after the brand new Superman film redefined hope and heroism on the big screen in July 2025. Amid years of stylistic experiments from various directors, this film seems to have aimed to strike the balance DCU has always needed.
And while it does not directly connect to 2022’s The Batman, it stands alongside it. These are pillars of DC’s renewed tonal coherence, encouraging a more personal yet epic approach.
