One of Hollywood's most sought after, say, comfort actors, Dwayne Johnson is set to take on a guise that he has not yet been uncovered in. More complex, more thrilling, and with a lot more intentional moral ambiguity than Teth Adam. Teamed up with independent studio A24 and penned down by Zeke Goodman, Johnson's next venture is all but set into motion. But, awaiting a cast that is yet to fully assemble, as reported by Deadline. This rumored shift in trajectory, in terms of Johnson's career, is highly probable to landmark the fifty-three-year-old Hollywood veteran's bejeweled crown.
As for the anticipated film, Breakthrough brings Southern California into the limelight and timed at the end of the culture-shifting millennium that had the world brought to a standstill in its wake. Taking focus on an era where self-help movements had the youth by the throat, the story follows a young man who gets involved headfirst in the consequences of these movements. It is the charismatic and magnetic, unignorable guru responsible for the young man's spiral, that Johnson is expected to play. With a directorial cast yet to be appointed, the film stands at a pre-production level as of now.
While the role of a conniving guru might be a new path to tread for audiences, it cannot be said that the WWE star had not ever teased such a possibility before.

Portraying the vices of addiction and its struggles, topped with difficult relationships, his latest persona takes off from his usual action-hero guise.
