As Superman continues to dominate online chatter, a new comparison is stirring the internet today. With excitement building around David Corenswet’s upcoming take on the iconic cape, comparisons to Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel were inevitable. However, a fresh Rotten Tomatoes figure has added fuel to the fire, sparking plenty of internet buzz. It looks like fans are yet again picking sides in the epic Kryptonian clash.

For the record, Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel possesses a 56 percent approval rating on the aforementioned review aggregator. David Corenswet’s Superman, meanwhile, which will release on July 11, has amassed a whopping 85 percent approval rating. Fans of the former star are not having it on X, explaining the math in layman's terms: While Man of Steel has more critics weighing in, the latter’s 85 percent score is only a reflection of a couple of dozen reviews. Cavill enthusiasts say the impressive number for the James Gunn directorial will come down as more and more people comment on the same.

Notably, Henry Cavill and David Corenswet fans have been locking horns for a while now on myriad social media platforms. The debate between the two factions has ranged from critiquing both the actors’ acting prowess to commenting on the capabilities of the directors at the helm of the distinct eras. Cavill’s turn as Superman was led by Zack Snyder, while James Gunn, as mentioned earlier, steers the Superman wheel now. Fans are yet again engaging in identical rhetoric.

Superman fandom divided as Henry Cavill and David Corenswet supporters battle it out

As an X handle titled No Context Superman put the Rotten Tomatoes number out, Clark Kent admirers spiraled into a frenzy, with Henry Cavill fans yet again dominating the discourse. Fans of the British actor sounded off against the review aggregator’s scores, saying that not even the encouraging numbers would be able to save the upcoming offering. One questioned Rotten Tomatoes’ credibility, saying the site had Ironheart as a top show once, which per them, was not accurate. A third person, meanwhile, claimed they understand the need of Corenswet’s fans to clap back at Zack Snyder supporters; however, that should not be a reason for anyone to disgrace a really good movie.

Corenswet fans held their own, dragging Cavill’s acting chops again, claiming he did not even talk much in Man of Steel, hence making it boring. A second user added to the conversation, pointing out how it took Corenswet only one movie to become the best Superman.
