Can Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and Zendaya’s Rue From ‘Euphoria’ Meet Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd in ‘The Idol’? Sam Levinson Reveals New Updates
HBO’s blockbuster hit Euphoria successfully dominated the entire TV network as it first hit the screens. With its sensual yet overwhelming plotlines and twists, the Sam Levinson hit made all the fame it could. Nonetheless, it paved the way for yet another similar yet unique HBO original that seems to have already raised the bar too high. The Idol, which is already sparking controversies for its extremely raunchy intrigues, has once again sprung back to top headlines with the latest updates coming in.
Coming from the same director and with somewhat parallel storylines, the forthcoming The Weeknd debut series had already kept the fans at the edge of their seats. And with Levinson’s latest updates, the excitement is undoubtedly knocked out of the park. The previous day on Monday, the IDOL made its grand yet strikingly scandalous premiere at Cannes 2023. Nonetheless, fans were not much excited about the same. Taking to Twitter, Pop Crave reported that the director has officially confirmed that Euphoria and The Idol are sister franchises.

At the star-studded event, the director has it that both the nerve-sizzling series quite literally take place in the same universe. It thus clearly indicates that you very well expect characters from the previous hit to appear in the forthcoming sensation. In fact, Alexa Demie’s Maddy Perez will reportedly have a cameo in The Idol. However, nothing more substantiating the same has been reported by the official authorities. Nonetheless, the crossover that many of us had already seen coming is finally happening.
The wait does not last long. As per updates, we just have a few days until the highly anticipated series drops on the streamer.

The lead stars of the sordid male fantasy, Abel Tesfaye, popularly called The Weeknd, and Lily-Rose Depp, displayed the price of fame at the Cannes. The team pulled off a five-minute-long ovation at the event. Nonetheless, it has garnered quite stirring reactions from fans and media houses online. What was supposed to be a bar-breaking level of a sensual plotline has quickly escalated to become a scandal of its own owing to the unimaginable level of its sexual content.
The Idol will soon hit our screens on the streaming platform on the 4th of June as scheduled. Meanwhile, the production of season 3 of Euphoria will reportedly commence later this year.
